Ancestors II

Ancestors is a proposal devised and generated jointly between Centro de Edición and SM Pro Art with the support of the Department of Culture of the Suances City Council.

Ancestors is a program that is based on the creation of unpublished works that are later exhibited in our land, Cantabria.

In this second edition we wanted to deepen the objective of creation and go further...

As we always say,

To create is to make something out of nothing.

To create is to reach an intense emotion that is transformed into a story that moves, in the first instance, the artist to, later, do the same with the spectators.

In March 2022 we met for the first time, from a distance, with 11 wonderful souls to launch the project.

The proposal was that they start from scratch, go for something new, connect with their interior, connect with their most intense emotions, and shape a new project, a completely innovative work within their body of work.

It was a great challenge for everyone because there would only be five virtual meetings.

Eleven naked and brave souls who, throughout the process, opened their hearts to generate eleven unpublished works. Eleven wonderful works, to which they have arrived by giving their all, committing themselves, getting inside, being daring and truly leaving their comfort zone.

Eleven artists who have chosen paths never travelled before and have come up with very powerful, forceful, truthful, emotional works of exquisite beauty.
